Welcome to the Wheel of Well-being

Over the past fifteen years, there has been a growing field of research that combines aspects of psychology, health and economics that is exploring what makes us happy – and what kind of things that we can do to improve our well-being. It has been partly fuelled by the rapid pace of social, environmental and technological change – and partly fuelled by a growing recognition that money isn’t buying us as much happiness as we had thought it would. This course uses the Wheel of Well-being (WoW) as a framework to explore the component parts of happy lives from the perspectives of body, mind, spirit, people, place and planet.

 

There are 6 modules, one for each sector of the wheel and we suggest that you complete one module a week, but it is self-directed so please feel free to go at the speed that suits you. As you progress through the course and each element of the wheel you get the chance to learn about and try out some simple activities designed to boost your mood and increase happiness and well-being. Not everything is going to work, after all we are all different, so give them a go, discard those that don’t work for you and focus on the one’s that do. We hope you enjoy this course.
