Spirit Give

This month we are focusing on Spirit give as we celebrate World Kindness Day and the International Day for Tolerance

Kindness helps build better relationships!
Acts of kindness can help us build better relationships.  Even small acts can change the way we see others and how they see us.  Kindness can help us feel more compassionate, more confident, and more grateful for what we have.

How to be kind in a pandemic…
Kindness.org partnered with Harvard University to undertake research to identify the top ten low cost, high impact act of kindness. Here’s what they found.

1. Say ‘thank you’ to someone who made your meal possible.
2. Cover your mouth when you cough.
3. Be on time for video calls.
4. Tell the people you love how you feel about them.
5. Video call your parents, grandparents.
6. Write a list of things you love about someone.
7. Wash your hands.
8. Tell someone what they mean to you.
9. Reach out to someone and ask them how they’re doing.
10. Thank someone who made a difference in your life.

13th November – World Kindness Day

Kindness is a fundamental part of the human condition which bridges the divides of race, religion, politics, gender and post codes. World Kindness Day aims to highlight good deeds and focus on the positive power and the common threads of kindness which bind us.  It’s contagious too, so let’s share a little kindness for ourselves and others.

16th November – International Day of Tolerance

When was the last time you had a different perspective than one of your friends? When was the last time you’ve had to learn something about someone else’s culture?  The international day of tolerance celebrates open-mindedness and listening and how we use it to move beyond conflict to a better, kinder future together.
