Implemental Quality Framework

Implemental have used our experience to develop a framework for this type of activity which we refer to as our “Implemental Quality Framework”. This has been developed based on the ‘Better Mental Health Care’ framework by Graham Thornicroft and Michele Tansella.

It is designed to support a consistent approach to our review and evaluation and associated activities (e.g. training and education programmes).  It guides those carrying out the reviews and also those expecting to benefit from them.  We have developed the framework to stimulate and support a set of conversations as part of the review.

The framework identifies a number of key themes (groupings) and associated lines of inquiry.  This can be thought of as the questions Implemental would expect organisations to be asking themselves.  Underpinning this are more detailed schedules which might be thought of as the evidence that might demonstrate good practice.

Implemental aims to achieve an appropriate balance between interpreting “standards” and allowing flexibility to reflect very different service contexts.  It does presume universal core behaviours that would act as minimum standards.  However, we aim to avoid the idea that there are a set of right answers or boxes to tick.
